LKG Tower

1999 | Ayala Avenue, Makati

LKG Towers is a structure with a radical image, and a strong structural impact that does not conform to the building orientations of structures along Ayala Avenue. Image recall is strong, especially when viewed at street level.

The articulation of sun shading details is derived from the provincial homes in the South. The vertical diagonal line draws one’s eyes towards the helipad that seems to pull the buildings outwards and, when lit at night, projects surreal quality of a floating pad.

Fronting Ayala Avenue is a stunning seven-storey high lobby. Walls are textured with a criss-cross of horizontally oriented wood paneling, giving depth, shadows and scale to a difficult-to-decorate wall.
